So we are 3 episodes into the US version of my favorite UK show, Top Gear. Things seem to be getting better but it is still far from the masterpiece of the UK version. One of my biggest complaints about the show so far is the way they are treating The Stig.
All the mystery and intrigue that the UK version built into the lovable character. All the quips of his legendary feats, or quirky facts are gone and he is just a guy in a white suit who doesn’t talk. They have taken one of the best parts of the UK show and made it the worse part of the US version.
Other than the treatment of The Stig the show seems to be improving slightly, the moonshine bit was familiar but done pretty well. I think they should get the hosts drunk for the whole show from now on, it was them at their most comfortable and they had the best chemistry when lit up on moonshine.
