Next week at the Geneva Motor Show Toyota will show off it’s FT-86 “Open Concept”. We have lots of pictures and even some video after the jump. However, there is not a lot of info about the concept other than the roof is electronically operated. It is almost for sure a soft top too. Basically it is an 86 with the roof cut off and some interior upgrades.
Overall I think the car looks really good as a drop top. The lines work, It looks like it was meant to be a convertible and not just a car they cut the roof off of.
The white interior looks nice, but knowing people who have had them you would be in a grey interior in no time. There is no way to keep that clean! I am not a big fan of the tan carpet, bleh.
I think I am digging the single din Unit with gauges in the upper spot. You loose the GPS and fancy bits of a double din but could always to a pop out screen unit to handle that. Then when driving hard you can put it away, because you really should be concentrating not watching a movie, and have a nice view of the gauges. I also like how they made that dash trim panel a single piece.
The 86 Iphone holder is quite trick, I like it. You might notice that even this concept has no armrest, I did.
