There are already red light cameras on some roads in Orlando but due they were not on state roads due to laws. Watch your ass on sate roads no that Governor Leatherface just signed a new law that allows the state to put the money making machines on state roads.
The law which goes into effect on July 1 mandates a $158 per infraction fine. The tickets that you will get in the mail carry no points and it does not matter who was driving the car. The ticket is issued to the vehicle owner not the driver.
One of the reasons people complain about the cameras is they say that they don’t lower traffic incidents and there are even complaints that they reduce the yellow light times to increase the amount of money the cameras bring in.
Regardless of where you stand on them they are coming to Orlando. So be careful and if you see yellow don’t try and push your luck.
