No Pagani Huayra for US!

The US blocked Pagani from selling the Huayra in the US due to its lack of child-safe “advanced” airbags. Pagani had applied for waiver which is for companies that sell a very few cars in the US like Tesla. The US denied that waiver and now the US will have to wait to get the car.
UPDATE!!!

Unlike the Zonda the Huayra was developed and crash tested to be meet strict U.S. safety and emissions regulations. Pagani said it would cost 4.5 million euros to update the airbags which doesn’t make a lot of sense for the 5-10 cars that they would sell in the US.

It seems silly to me because the odds of a child riding in a Pagani Huayra are very low.

It looks like this was just a speed bump and the car will be available by 2013. Pagani had planned for this and had already been working on a fix.
