New 911 Carerra S much faster around the Ring….

Some news that is sure to make current owners of a 911 Gt3 quite angry has recently been released. The all new, but still looks the same, 911 Carrera S has shaved a full 13 seconds off its time around the Nürburgring ring. The car made it around the ring in 7:40, which makes the car just as fast as the previous 911 GT3.

This is sure to make owners of the GT3′s a little upset, since they paid about $80,000 more than the 911 Carerra S. The increase is due to a 50HP bump and the car being put on quite the diet.

The new larger model comes in about 100 pounds lighter than the old model. This was all done without the use of carbon fiber, leaving more room for savings on the raceier models. The car uses a lot of aluminum but the body is still steel.

The good news is this means that the new 911 Turbo, GT3 and GT2′s should be really quick.
