Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love,
cheesesteaks, and the famous Rocky steps. Just outside
of the Philadelphia city limits in the suburbs we were
able to find this diamond in the rough. We first met
Anna Bui at a party that she was promoting for HIN NightShift
in New York earlier this year. We kept in touch and
she eventually invited us to party in her hometown.
From what one could recall, amidst all the alcohol involved,
the parties that Anna Bui puts together are unforgettable.
Now the question one may ask, Pat's or
Geno's cheesesteaks, which one is better? It is hard
to choose one and decide, at least until you have tried
them both for yourself. In the meanwhile, let's get
to know a little bit more about Anna Bui.
JADE: Tell me how did you get into
modeling?
AB: A friend asked me to do a car
show and to work at their booth, from there I had photographers
contact me regarding photoshoots. I worked with a few,
and it turned out to be fun. My first real shows were
HIN Philly and SEMA IAS 2006.
JADE: What other work have you done
or do you do?
AB: I promote parties in Philadelphia
and New York City with Elements Nightlife, and the occassional
go-go dancing. However, most of my time is devoted to
taking care of my baby sisters who live with me. I have
to make sure that I have food on the table for them,
otherwise they can get quite angry at me!
JADE: I'm sure they are a handful,
but aside from all the work, what do you do with your
friends for fun?
AB: Eat, shop, and eat! There is
not much to do in Philadelphia which we have not done
already, so we venture out to New York and New Jersey.
For example, we like heading out to New York to party
at Aura and also to Atlantic City to party at one of
my favorite clubs at the Borgata. Although I must say
that a good conversation over food and a bottle of wine
beats any night at the club.
JADE: How would describe your relationship
with your girl friends?
AB: It is an interesting bond that
we share, we have odd nicknames for each other and we
tend to talk for hours on our phones using 3-way. We
talk about everything and anything. What guys who date
us don't know, is that when you date one of us, you
date us all! We keep no secrets from another, and when
we are together in person, we are a group of ladies
that are undecisive, crazy, and most importantly enjoying
life!
JADE: It seems you are always just
an instant message away. What does one do online all
the time? Looking for any interesting YouTube videos?
AB: I like to Myspace, shop online,
YouTube videos of course, and when I get the chance
I like to catch up on watching MTV episodes online with
my one and only true love.
JADE: True love? Hmph! Guys don’t
seem to give up when they go after a lady. When is enough,
enough? When should one stop?
AB: When I tell a guy that he is
annoying and it is over and done, I think that is a
clear enough message for anyone. I don’t have
the time to play games, I say what I need to say.
JADE: Understood, but have you ever
gone out of your way to pick up a guy?
AB: No, I don’t need to
pick up guys, they always seem to come around me singing
Justin Timberlake songs as pick-up lines. Just so you
know, that does not work for me. I just use my gut instinct
when it comes to guys, if I'm feeling it, then I'll
stick around just a little bit longer to see what he
will do next.
JADE: What feature do you get complimented
most on?
AB: My friend told me that all
I need to do if i need something done is to bat my eyes
because they were beautiful. This works often when
it comes to jumping the line when going out clubbing
with friends, and also when getting out of trouble such
as with speeding tickets!
JADE: What pisses you off?
AB: When someone lies to me, I
take words for granted and I expect the truth.
JADE: Now,
if you had one wish?
AB: As with many people, to be
rich! But most importantly, whatever direction my life
takes me, that I’m always happy.
JADE: Any advice for upcoming girls?
AB: To be yourself, have fun, and
don’t take things too seriously.
JADE: Last words?
AB: I would like to thank Chad
and the Jade Crew for this opportunity, also to Tony
for the pictures, Wah for closing the doors of Aura
for the private shoot, and thank you to all of my friends
and family who continue to support me in whatever it
is that I do!
