The reason everyone comes to Mecum is for the Muscle, hell it’s their slogan. Trust me there was no shortage of muscle, enough muscle to even make the Govenator jealous. Now some of these could be classified as street rods, but I thought they belonged here with the muscle. This is the last part of our Mecum Auto Auction Coverage.

There were Mustangs, Shelbys, tons of Cobra replicas and even a few cars that I never thought I would actually get to see up close. This Plymouth “Superbird”. A road runner built specifically for Nascar.
So the next time some older car guy makes fun of your rear wing as him about the “superbird”.
Now we get to my absolute favorite car of the entire auction, which just happen to be partially built by Doug of East Coast Garage. The same Doug who will be installing my Airrunner suspension.
It’s the Cuda Restomod that I posted before the auction. This car was even more amazing in person than in pictures. This was a beast, the stance achieved by the tubbed rear wheels was perfection.
I would kill to have this car. According to the sticker the car topped out at $130,000 and did not sell. However, Doug told me that as they were rolling the car off the block someone offered $135,000 and they took it. I should have asked what was invested in the car but I would venture they did not make a ton of profit.
For my money I would take this over a new 911 or even dare I say it, the GTR.
