In my search for automotive content on TV I came across this show “Street Concepts Berlin”. It is the story of Ryan Friedlinghaus the owner and founder of the West Coast Customs. He has recently expanded into Europe, specifically Germany, and this is the story of how it has gone.
I used to watch the original Street Concepts show and liked it much more than Unique Whips. The crew over at West Coast actually does some nice work and do some serious custom jobs. One of my favorites was when they took the body off a old charger and put it onto the new charger making a car that looks like the old school muscle car but has all the modern conveniences. Though they do do some stuff that really isn’t my style, but that is mainly due to giving the customers what they want. I really respect the quality of their work.
The Berlin show is actually really fun to watch. So far there haven’t been too many car builds, it’s mainly been about the building of the shop. The “German connection” Toby is hilarious. There is just something funny about German accents. In a recent episode he was trying to say “wood” but it kept coming out as “voood”.
If you have discovery HD Theater check it out. It airs new on Sundays at 9 PM eastern and re-airs all the time.
