I need a Scion FRS, like now!

So the Scion FRS finally made its long awaited debut at the NY auto show and it came out with a bang. This car is hot, but my hopes for the production car looking this good are not high.

Looking at the car I can easily see quite a few things that have no chance at making it to the production car. First off the rims look to have a single lug wheel and that is not going to be offered on a mass produced car.

Also I highly doubt the amazing rear diffuser will make it onto the production car, which will be a shame.

I can also guarantee they will change the side view mirrors.

My main hope is that they don’t alter the curves and lines of the car too much when it goes into production. If the car comes close to looking to like this and comes with a turbo boxer engine then I still imagine there being a line out the door for these things and I might be one of the people in the line.

UPDATE:

To answer chads question in the comments.

Here is the short and dirty version (ok after I typed it i realize its not short at all).

It started with this car at the TAS 2010 www.jadecrew.com/ft86-g-sport-concept-car-at-tokyo-auto-salon-2010/.

Then Toyota showed us this, http://www.jadecrew.com/toyota-ft-86-family-picture/.

Shortly after that we saw the “FT86-2″ www.jadecrew.com/are-we-heading-for-a-letdown-from-ft86/.

Then it was announced that they were not going to make the FT86 for toyota but instead it was going to be a scion and the pictures in this post are the first we are seeing of the car as a scion. So the short answer to your question of where is the FT86 is its right here.

My concerns about the parts not making it onto the car are really based off this being a scion and that they are pushing scion as the youth brand. So a 30k plus car is not going to fly. They car will most likely be around 25k and due top that much of the cool stuff is going to have to go.

it’s all going to depend on price of this vehicle for those above mentioned parts to remain or go. the rear diffuser can be made to look like the rear of a 370Z or G37, how they have pseudo-looking rear diffusers. now the one-lug may be a little more of a stretch, but just recently Porsche released the production GTS with a one-lug wheel. maybe it’ll become a little more mainstream for production now? you never know, maybe it’s like that rim company that develops one lug wheels for traditional hub setups? either way, it’s a sharp looking car… just curious now on what Subaru will unveil next? on another note… what happened to the FT concept?
