Since its inception I can’t say that I have ever given any kind of thought to being seen in a Hyundai. With its newest entries into the market the Genesis Sedan and Coupe they may have changed my mind.
For this post I’m going to focus on the sedan, since that’s what I’m into right now. The sedan has a very VIP feel to it, it looks kind of like a Mercedes or a Bimmer. It’s got a nice V8 under the hood making 375HP and its rear wheel drive. It’s decked out in leather and wood on the inside and comes with nearly all the luxury features you would expect in a Merc or Bimmer.
Here are a few photochops of the car with the VIP look.

The only problem I see with the car is the Hyundai logo on it, and the price tag. A nicely loaded one like they tested at Edmunds runs $44,000! The V8 model starts at $38,750 which puts it close to a BMW 335 or Infiniti G37. Even though they are not quite the same size as the Genesis I think they are good options. I think its going to take some time for Hyundai to shake that “cheap” impression and pull that kind of money out of people.
