Honda CRZ Turbo being fast tracked?

We definitely are not the only ones who are complaining that the Honda CRZ is a little short in the power department, one tuner has even fitted one with a KA to try and help. The new news is that Honda themselves is actually taken everyones gripes to heart and may be offering a turbo version sans electric motor.

You see the issue with the CRZ is that it’s confused and stuck in a sort of limbo. It’s a hybrid but only manages 38mpg so its not a very good hybrid. It’s a sports coupe but with only 122hp and a 0-60 in the 9-10 second range it’s not a very good sports coupe. In trying to be the best of both worlds it fails at being even descent at either.

According to AutoCar magazine Honda is putting a 160hp to 200hp turbocharged 4 cylinder into the hot looking hatch and that weighs in at 2637lbs which I am sure quite a bit of is the batteries in for the hybrid system.

Autocar refused to name its sources but they say that we could see the car as soon as December’s Tokyo Auto Salon. The car is possibly to be based off of the Turbo CRZ concept from this years SEMA. I sure hope they go through with it so I can get to drive it.

DECEMBER IS NOT FAST TRACKING NOTHING! SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE!

ALSO AGREE IF THE 160 OR 200HP VERSIONS IS OVER THE HYBIRD PRICE THEN ILL BUY SOMETHING ELSE!

HOPE HONDA IS LISTENING TO WHAT PEOPLE WANT THIS TIME!
AND NOT THE BIG WIG KNOW-IT-ALLS

they also need to drop the price a little if they go sans electric… not sure i’d pay $28k at the dealer for a 160-200hp cr-z when there are plenty of other options out there now for less than that…
