It looks like the BMW 1M is going to be a single year run car. According to reports BMW plans to halt production of the car after this year, meaning there will be as few as 1,000 of these little beasts available. This does not mean that there may not be a variation of the car in the future but it will be years away.
This makes me sad because I really like the car. It has great looks, awesome power and is pretty light weight. I am in no position to pick one up now but had hoped in the future I could pick one up for my mid life crisis. With only 1,000 the car is going to be quite hard to get and expensive on the secondary market.
