Words: Chad Antonio
It was one of those nights where we wanted
to go out and do something, but we didn't know just
what to do. We didn't want to go to a night club, nor
did we want to sit through a movie. It was past midnight
already, and we were tired from a car show earlier in
the day. Anyhow, we heard one of our old friends opened
up this lounge in the Winter Park area. So we took the
drive, and here's what we thought about the place.
Tatame is a tea and sake house. It is
located on Fairbanks just before Park Avenue if you're
coming from Interstate 4. Just be on the look out for
the big picture of Maggie Lee in the front windows.
On the menu were various teas and fresh squeezes. They
even have boba! Their sake menu had a good variety.
We ended up trying several of their teas and boba. We
also kicked back with pearl sake and a bottle of rain
sake. Although they don't have a written food menu at
the time, we did try their pork sandwich and Cantonese
chicken.
It was a good time, we spent $120 between
us all. Maggie didn't get on the guitar and sing while
we were there, but we heard she's pretty good. There's
bar stools, a comfy couch, or if you prefer a bed like
area to relax on. The bathrooms are interesting, with
their flip of a switch privacy glass. We'll be headed
back there again, especially when we need a fix for
boba in the late night. Only problem I could find, may
be the parking. Here's a few pictures of us at Tatame
on our first night there.
