Fast and Furious Movie Review

Ok so they made a fourth one. My hopes were very high for this movie, the director is back from Tokyo Drift which I liked very much, the previews were solid and the original cast was back. Apparently the franchise is not dead since it was number one in its opening weekend taking in 72.5 million.

I will say I like the movie and thought it was pretty good. But I don’t think it was as good as I hoped for. My main complaint was that there really wasn’t enough car stuff for me. There was only one race in the movie, one chase and another boring driving scene. There was also way too much muscle in the movie for me.

There were only 2 imports featured in the movie, the skyline r34 and an STI. The best car in my opinion was only on screen for about ten seconds.

One of the bad guys drove a nice as 240. From the quick look I got at it I’m not sure if it was actually a real Silvia or a 240 with the s15 head and tails. It was nice though. The plot was ok, but I hoped they would also have used the character of Han more. He was what made me like Tokyo Drift as much as I did. I thought the actor playing him was really good and the character was really interesting.

Overall the movie was good, but a little to slow for me. It needed more action and more driving/racing. From the looks of the opening weekend it nearly guarantees that there will be a 5th movie and the ending was a definite setup for another. I think I would probably rank them from best to worst like so; fast and the Furious, Tokyo Drift, Fast and Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious. It kind of hurts that 2 Fast was the worst since we have a “connection” to the second one but I have to be real about it, it was.
