If you love your Honda this is an event for you. The event was at the famous Suzuka (Honda) track on Feb 20th 2010. Special thanks to Rays Engineering for the pictures, Enjoy…
We decided to stop by and see what the boys at Titan Motorsports have been up to, and they have been busy. Titan started off as a small shop that really only specialized in Supras and has grown into a huge operation with a full race team and enough stock to modify half the cars in Orlando.
On this sunny Saturday I packed up the gear in Project VIP and set out to Titan’s new headquarters in the shadow of the Orlando Airport. The only other Jade ride to make it out was Vinny and his widebody STI. It was nice that Russ and Chad were in town to celebrate their mothers birthday. It was fun chilling with the boys again, felt like old times.

I recently attended this event for the first time thinking it would be a chill weekend but I unexpectedly ended up running in to a lot of the people I knew from socal. It was so crowded that the lines wrapped around the garage an hour before it started up until we left . This is definitely more the just a meet once a year, it has become the place to be if you’re a jdm/hellaflush crowd. Wekfest is definitely an event you MUST attend.
I hope that this does not end up filed under the “cars we don’t get” section but unfortunately it is leaning that way. I still don’t understand why every automaker seems to refuse to give us the fun cars. We don’t get the Focus RS or the FQ400 and it looks like we may not get the fire breathing Audi RS5.

The reason everyone comes to Mecum is for the Muscle, hell it’s their slogan. Trust me there was no shortage of muscle, enough muscle to even make the Govenator jealous. Now some of these could be classified as street rods, but I thought they belonged here with the muscle. This is the last part of our Mecum Auto Auction Coverage.

This has got to be my favorite type of car at the auction just beating out the muscle cars. This was what really started the whole custom car craze. A bunch of kids who couldn’t afford the top of the line cars so they took their run of the mill rides and threw in bigger motors, larger tires, cut the tops off them and did just about anything to make them unique. Street rods are basically a hot rod built with newer engines and suspensions.

Not everything at the auction was produced before I was born. There were a few newer cars out there to check out also. Some of the highlights include a pair of Ford GT’s, a Bently and even an Ariel Atom.

Ah, the classics. They may not be as flashy as a hot rod, or have the raw power of the muscle cars but they are pure works of art. They have unique body lines, amazing details and the tail fins.

Here comes part two of my coverage of the Mecum Auto Auction in Kissimmee. In part one I showed you some of the more “interesting” cars that I came across and now its time to see what was out there for those not interested in muscle.
The Datsun unfortunately was nowhere to be found, I really wanted to check that one out in person. The imports and euros were represented mainly by VW’s, some nice Italian’s, a few Germans and that vintage 90’s show civic.

Nobody sells more muscle than Mecum, that’s the slogan and they were not kidding.

This weekend I braved the cold all alone and headed out to see what was for sale at the Mecum Auto Auction held in Kissimmee. The 4 day annual event was held from Jan 28th through Jan 31st and is also broadcast on the Discovery HD Theater. Since the wife was feeling sick and I couldn’t find anyone who was able to hit the auction on Sunday with me I grabbed the SLR, my Volk sweatshirt and set off for Kissimmee. Hit the jump for some highlights and the first of my photo coverage galleries.

Everyone knows that Tokyo Auto Salon is as much about the “booth professionals” as it is about the cars. In my searches for coverage photos from the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon I came across TokyoFashion.com and their coverage for the annual event at Makuhari Messe. They focused on the women, so I know it’s not what you want to see as far as coverage but I thought I would post it anyway.

The final round of Formula-D went off and Ryan Tuerck and his GXP took home the win over Tyler McQuarrie and his 350Z. With that win it brought Tuerck and his GXP within 6 points of the ultimate champion Forsberg and his convertible 350Z. The action was great and we posted a nice video from webridestv.com.
