Recently two techs at Pacific BMW in Glendale CA took out a BMW 1 M for a drive to “check for issues”. By check for issues he obviously meant ignore the break in period and beat the tar out of the car. They taped it and put the video up on youtube. The sad thing is that…someone actually ending up buying this car and paid $10,000 over sticker for it.
The good folks a 1addicts.com figured out what dealer it was and turned them into BMW NA. Thankfully the two techs got fired. The dealer called the owner when the story hit local news to try and do some damage control. The owner had no idea what had happened and said he would go look online.
After seeing the video the owner was livid and contacted the dealer to get the $10,000 he paid over invoice back. The dealer was only willing to give 2k back. The owner has now lawyered up.
It’s one thing to to charge a premium from a car, it’s a totally different thing to beat the crap out of it before you sell it at a premium.
