What Can I say about Ben’s latest project, except I want it. The Veilside Fortune kit for the MRS is one of those kits that doesn’t enhance the car its put on, it downright transforms it into a whole new car. The Toyota MRS is one of those cars in stock for that well, just kinda sucks. It doesn’t really look very good, its really slow and is basically considered a chick car. Slap the Veilside Fortune kit and a nice turbo kit and the car becomes something really special. Ben and I have wanted one of these ever since we saw the car for the first time and I hate him for beating me to it.

samThanks, for the info and detail about Veliside widebody kit, from what I’ve been hearing this will look to be a daunting, task and difficulty project to fulfill on my own task, with such complexity involve, I am guess-mating another $15k+ more to cover this build.
Also having to finding a reputable auto body to put this kit on cost a lot as well for time and labor charge involve.
Thanks again!

BenSam,
Since I just finished this project, I can give you a good idea what to expect. If you are starting from scratch with a stock MR-S, budget for spending more money than what you paid for the car ($15k-$20k) for the authentic kit, hood, wheels with custom offset matched to the car, veilside pro drag exhaust (or custom setup to fit the bodykit exhaust holes, suspension/coilovers, labor/paint, misc etc. Do not cheap out if you want the car to look GOOD–there is a $right$ way and a wrong way to do widebody…do it right or don’t do it at all. This will not take 3-5hrs. Budget 3-5 months as a more realistic timeframe. Good luck and make sure you get a very good paint/body guy. If you are in Orlando, I’d refer you to Erik at Autoworx Paint & Collision 407-712-4522.

WBJ3.5 hours is not going to be enough, not by a long shot. I don’t think you could prep a car for a full paint job in 3.5 hours and do it right. Every Panel on the car is either replaced or touched. Even though its a real deal JDM kit there are always fit issues that need to be sorted out. Also don’t forget you need to get a set of wider wheels, spacers wont work, and also the exhaust. Its a ton of work to do right.
