Award-winning garage may lose its driveway

So the story goes that Maserati was having a competition to find the best garages in the world. They were basically taking the obligatory “Garage Thread” from every forum and making it a contest. There were two categories for the contest that was held in conjunction with Architectural Digest magazine. We are not sure what the prize for this contest was, not that it would have mattered to the “existing” category contestants. They obviously have just about everything you could think to give them as a prize as shown by the winner Hogler Schuber.

The garage reminds everyone of that famous glass walled masterpiece that Cameron launched his daddy’s Ferrari Spider through and to a horrible death. The same garage you could have owned when the house that the film shot at was put up for sale.

The fact that a super rich guy built an amazing garage and won some crazy uber-garage contest would is interesting but the real piece of news is to make his garage dreams come true and get his rides up to the elevated masterpiece.

To achieve this take Schuber built a 10 foot concrete bridge connecting the road to his garage. A bridge that he got all the correct permits and permission from the City of LA to build so he could “better comply with off street parking regulations”.

Now thanks to his neighbors saying it is a safety risk or something. What they really mean is they don’t like it and think it sets a bad example for other homes in the neighborhood. They want it tore down and the city has caved to the pressure and told Schuber to do so.

Schuber is heading to court to fight for his bridge and make sure he still has a way to get that amazing Ferrari 512 BBi up to its rightful place, looking down on the other ordinary cars.

We hope he wins.

The funny thing is that all this mess is about a bridge that II can’t seem to find in any of the articles about this situation. Does anyone have a picture of the bridge. If so please send it to us so we can post it.
